SPEAKER: Duane Meyer, P.E., CCE – Hixson, Inc.

SUMMARY: Duane Meyer has been Comptroller of Project Costs at Hixson for the past 11 years of his 35 plus years of Cost Estimating experience.  Duane is a Civil Engineer with a degree from Michigan Technological University and also has a Masters in Project Management.  Duane is the current Region 4 Director of AACE International, past Section President and current Immediate Past President. Duane is AACE Certified and has been an active member in AACE for 35 years.

Part 1 of Duane’s presentation will be an update on AACE International with a review of some new products and features AACE has been promoting this year.  Part 2 will be a discussion of the Estimating Technology Tools that Estimator’s have available to them in their “Toolkit” such as:

• Technology Tools to better visualize the scope of the project
• Technology Tools to better quantify the scope of the project
• Technology Tools utilizing Software for OOM and Preliminary Type Estimates
• Technology Tools for Definitive Level Cost Estimates

• Technology Tools for Bid Analysis

• Technology Tools in increasing the number of bidders to the CM/GC
